Flog ItTerms of use

1. Acceptance
By creating an account or browsing Flog It you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. Who can use Flog It
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract under Zambian law. Accounts on behalf of minors are not allowed.
3. Your account
You are responsible for the activity on your account. Keep your password and phone secure. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.
4. Marketplace role
Flog It is an online marketplace that connects buyers and sellers. We are not a party to any sale; the contract is between the buyer and the seller. We do not own, inspect, certify or guarantee any item listed on the platform unless explicitly stated.
5. Listings
Sellers are responsible for the accuracy of their listings. Stolen, counterfeit, illegal, or regulated items are prohibited. Flog It may remove any listing at any time.
6. Identity verification
Sellers may be required to verify their identity (national ID, TPIN, phone number) before listing or withdrawing funds. Identity verification carries a $15.99 review fee, paid in-app through Google Play before you submit your documents. This fee covers our team reviewing the submission you make and is charged per attempt, whether the outcome is an approval or a rejection — it is not refundable through Flog It, and if you are rejected you will need to pay it again to submit a fresh attempt. We do not process refunds for this fee ourselves; any refund request for the Google Play charge itself is handled solely by Google under Google Play's own refund policy, which is outside Flog It's control. We may refuse or revoke verification at our discretion to protect the marketplace.
7. Payments and escrow
Payments are processed through licensed payment providers. Funds are held in escrow until the buyer confirms delivery or the 48-hour inspection window elapses, after which they are released to the seller. Payment provider terms apply in addition to these terms.
8. Fees
Sellers pay two fees on sales, both shown in-app before you commit to them: a listing fee to publish an item, and a transaction fee on each completed sale, deducted from your payout when escrow releases. Buyers pay exactly the listed price plus any shipping charge — Flog It never adds a fee on top at checkout. Withdrawing your balance to mobile money carries our payment provider's payout fee, a flat amount per withdrawal rather than a percentage — the exact figure is always shown before you confirm, and withdrawing larger amounts less often keeps more of your money than many small withdrawals. Seller subscription plans and their pricing are shown in-app. The identity verification fee (see §6) is separate, paid through Google Play, and is not refundable through Flog It.
9. Shipping and delivery
Shipping arrangements are between the buyer and the seller. Flog It is not a courier and does not take possession of items. Sellers must dispatch within the time they advertise; buyers are responsible for inspecting items on delivery within the 48-hour window.
10. Refunds and returns
Refunds are issued through the in-app dispute process. If a dispute is found in the buyer's favour within the 48-hour inspection window, the full amount (including shipping you paid) is refunded to the original payment method. Mobile money payments go back to the same number; wallet payments return to the wallet. Sellers may set their own returns policy on top of this baseline.
11. Disputes
Disputes are handled through the in-app process. Decisions by Flog It support are final for the platform; you retain any rights you may have under applicable law.
12. Prohibited conduct
No fraud, harassment, hate speech, spam, attempts to circumvent fees, off-platform payment requests, or any unlawful activity. Violators may be banned and reported to authorities.
13. Intellectual property
Do not list items that infringe the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe a listing infringes your IP, contact us and we will review and remove infringing content where appropriate.
14. Content
You keep ownership of content you upload (photos, descriptions). By posting it, you grant Flog It a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display it within the app for the purpose of operating the marketplace.
15. User-to-user messaging
Chat and call features are provided for transacting on Flog It. Messages may be reviewed for safety, fraud prevention, and dispute resolution. Do not share payment details, off-platform contacts, or personal data you would not want reviewed.
16. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account. Flog It may suspend or terminate accounts for breach of these terms, fraud, or risk to other users.
17. Liability
Flog It provides the platform "as is" and does not guarantee the conduct of any user. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Flog It is not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
18. Force majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control — power, internet, mobile-network outages, regulatory action, or acts of God.
19. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Zambia. Any dispute that cannot be resolved through in-app support is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Zambia.
20. Severability
If any clause is found unenforceable, the remaining clauses stay in force.
21. Entire agreement
These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any in-app notices, are the entire agreement between you and Flog It regarding the platform and supersede prior agreements.
22. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified in-app. Continued use after the change date constitutes acceptance.
